Shell Beach Family Photos

Fall is full of family photo sessions and I love it! This family chose the beach for their session and I’m so glad they did. Shell Beach is one of the locations on the Central Coast that I never tire of photographing at. The tide pools are always fun for kids and the whole area is great for family photo sessions.

Candid Photos

During family photo sessions, I like to capture a mix of candid photos and posed portraits. Families look great when they explore together and I love to capture the moment that aren’t staged. The true interactions that happen when families explore and play together can’t be set up…they are organic.

Of course, we do take some time between moments to get a few shots where everyone is looking at the camera, but most shots are the moments you share with each other. These are my favorite shots to get.

These particular Shell Beach family photos were done an hour before sunset and continued for just about an hour.
