Roaring Dinosaur Cake Smash
How do they grow up so fast? It seems like just last week, Henry was in the studio for his newborn photos. Now, he’s a busy one year old with the most precious smile to go along with his darling personality. I just love every time I get to see Henry and his family. This cake smash was definitely my favorite session with them. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the session.
Dinosaur Background
Cake smash sessions aren’t just about smashing the cake. The first half of any cake smash session is all about getting some adorable pictures of your little one, just as they are. Henry took just a moment to warm up and smile, then he was the happy boy his family knows and loves.
We started out by taking some photos in the dinosaur set. Henry’s mom and I worked together to design the perfect set for him and I love how it turned out. Even big sister hopped in for a few shots! She was all ready in her cute dinosaur dress.
Second Background
Sine I like to have two different backgrounds for cake smash sessions, I designed a second, more basic set for Henry. I wanted to keep the dinosaur jungle theme a bit, so I chose a green backdrop and added a few colorful elements.
Henry was getting a little tired when we started with this set, but he quickly warmed up to the colorful balloons.
Cake Smash
We quickly moved on from this set as he was getting more tired by the minute. We wanted to make sure he was in good spirits for the cake. After all, we wanted him to have his cake and enjoy it too!
He wasn’t quite sure what to do with the cake, so one of his big brothers stepped in to show him how it’s done. Before we knew it, the whole crew was helping out and Henry got the right idea. He just needed a little encouragement from his siblings.

All in all, this dinosaur cake smash was a big hit! Henry had fun and his siblings got to participate as well. With such a wonderful family at his side, this little one is on the road to success. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.
